See this TripWow and more at tripwow.tripadvisor.com From City Tour to Tango "We started our day with a wonderfully relaxed breakfast being warmed by the sun through the atrium before setting off on our whirlwind Buenos Aires highlights of the city tour. The city has received numerous gifts ranging in form from statues of famous people to fountains, a flower that opens and closes by day and night to a statue of Eva Peron that the city is so upset about, as she looks somewhat thin and sickly, that they are considering taking it down and locking up the artist! We decided to make a slight change to the tour (what do you expect from such non-tour people :-), instead of going walking around a flea market in the old area of town, we had a craft market in the park near the hotel to go to instead, we got our guide to take us to the La Boca Barrio (suburb) in the city's south-east corner. It is a poor area where a lot of the houses are built from corrugated iron and traditionally painted in bright colours. It is also an area where Tango and football was and still is a very big part of daily life. Thedrive and walk into the beginning of this area was quite quiet until we hit the main street. They have very cleverly turned this into an area of colour, Tango music and somewhat of a tourist attraction but at the same time full of life and vibe. What a great area to visit. Our last...
