The Konkan is India's west coast. Locked between the Sahayadris - the Western Ghats- and the sea this small stretch of land runs from Kerala in the South to Gujarat in the North. Blessed with plenty of rain the monsoon starts its journey here. This is the land of the sea, the hills, backwaters and rivers. Lush green coconut is aplenty as is fish and sea food. A journey on the Konkan rail is breathtaking and is as sight to behold.
