Very early morning train to Hangzhou, arriving mid afternoon.

Get taxi to the hotel then go out in the rain down to the lakeside – find a haagendaz shop and cant resist. Have fun trying to explain to the waitress that Kims highly allergic to Kiwi and it will kill her – lots of dramatic miming and mad drawings! (stil get kiwi garnishes on our icecream so finally ask round the restaurant and find an english speaker!)

We go out with Grace and Jim (a couple of pharmacists from LA) to a Hot Pot restuarant where u throw all the food into a pot of boiling water in the middle of the table – lots of fun but not for veggies!
