Harvest Festival in Sonoma County (walking distance from our RV). This festival has the Fall Fair attributes we get back home, like pumpkin carving contests, ribbons for biggest and best pumpkins, best jams, best crafts, etc. BUT, the big attraction is the Wine Harvest. Vineyards from all over the Sonoma County and Napa County hold booths with ticketed taste testing and food testing. On Friday night (many staggering people), for $40, you could get a glass and all the wine tasting you could handle. There were three entire halls dedicated to the vineyards. LOTS of food booths, llama championship shows, pig races, etc. The Harvest Festival of Sonoma hosts the world championship grape stomping competition (some of which are costume competitions as well).
The brides to be (four in total) competed… one ‘actual’ bride to be.
The couple with the most ‘poundage’ of grape juice wins…. the top we saw was over 8 lbs.
850 + lbs of pumpkin.
