Why is the sky blue? Why is the grass green? Why did I quit my job in favour of travelling full time?
Since I made the announcement that I was going to try my hand at travelling full time, I’ve been plagued with questions such as:
Teachers get good holidays, why not carry on working?
Why a minimum of two years?
How will you fund yourself?
Why don’t you buy a house instead?
What’s next?
What if it doesn’t work out?
These are all valid questions and ones which I have definitely asked myself over and over again. Yet, the answers always come out the same: I’ve just got to try. The world is big and time is short so whilst I’m young and able, I just want to see all that I can see. I’m not in the best position financially, I’m not at the ‘prime age’ for backpacking but I do have this itching, niggling ever-growing desire to get out there and explore every corner of our beautiful planet. Perhaps I’ll only last a few months, perhaps I’ll make it as a full time adventurer, perhaps a new door will open and I’ll find something else that I really want to do… Only one thing is for absolute certain. I just have to try!
